1/4 cup water
12 taco shells (hard shells or small 6-inch soft flour tortillas work well)
Optional Taco Toppings: Shredded cheese, Shredded lettuce, Chopped tomatoes, Diced red onion, Taco sauce, Sour cream, Guacamole, etc.
Directions
- Add the ground beef to a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Incorporate chili powder, cumin, salt, oregano, garlic powder, and pepper, stirring well. Cook until the meat is fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Introduce tomato sauce and water, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until some liquid evaporates, leaving the meat mixture slightly saucy. Remove from heat.
- Warm the taco shells following the instructions on the package.
- Spoon 2 heaping tablespoons of taco meat into each taco shell. Top with your preferred taco toppings: shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, diced red onion, taco sauce, sour cream, guacamole, etc.
